Burning Calories as a Family!
When the kids are home from school; how to fit your workouts in?

Burning Calories as a Family! Summer is great for your kids, but does it wreak havoc with your workout schedule? Biggest Loser contestants contend with this all the time once they're home from the ranch and have to balance family time with workout time. Our experts offer a few tips on spending quality time with your family and burning some calories.

Go on a Shopping Safari
Don't just do errands. Take the kids and walk the mall, the grocery store, or the outdoor market. Deliberately take the long way through the stores, letting them dictate the way and find some things they think are interesting. It's better than finding a babysitter or leaving them with the neighbors and then having to rush around, stressed out about taking too long to finish what you have to do.

Get in the Swim
Instead of just taking the kids to the pool, go in with them. You can take a dip and play Marco Polo, volleyball, tag (yes, IN the water, not on the pool deck!), or do your own routine. Kids love just getting out and jumping back in. If you're looking for a great workout, just try following them as they do the cannon ball over and over and over…

Don't Just Park It at the Park
Just like the pool, the park is a place just begging you to play. Get on the swings, the monkey bars, or the basketball court. Throw a ball, ride on the bike path, or take a pair of skates. If getting on the equipment isn't practical or possible, try laps of the playground while the little ones play. Anything but sitting still!
